“I saved you some skittles. Celebrate the rainbow, baby.”

Want to know something scary? This weekend, my sister is graduating high-school. It’s kind of freaking me out, team. It’s like I’m old all of a sudden or something. She’s pretty cool, if you don’t know her. I mean, she puts up with me….

We hang out with children together.

We have weird traditions… like taking pics in the mirror rooms at the Children’s Museum.

We’re very thoughtful people.

Sister time is always a blast.

Adventures like  taking selfies with the window open when there isn’t a screen at 12 at night.

This is our favorite food. Ever.

We do Camp. In the most epic way possible.

And I just really like this picture. So I put it up here.

She’s so cool, guys. She writes, sings, acts, stage manages, is a terrific camp counselor, plays soccer, loves kids,  loves God, reads Jane Austen, loves Lord of the Rings and Les Miserable, plays the piano…

Also I think it’s awesome that sometimes people mistake us for best friends instead of sisters.

I’m excited for her. She’s going to Purdue next year, living in apartment with some good friends (so jealous… don’t get me wrong, dorm life is great but that just sounds awesome,) studying English education. I’m so excited to see what she’s going to do and learn these next few years.

I’ve lived in the same room as Lydia for most of my life, excepting the last two years (and an unfortunate half-year spent with other sisters in the tree room…) She’s one of my best friends in the entire world, and even late night “discussions” (read arguments) haven’t spoiled that. She’s the one person I can count on to tell me, in no uncertain terms, when I’ve done something stupid. Literally. I’ve received so many texts from her along the lines of: “That was a stupid decision.” She’s also affirms me; when she agrees with me on a decision I’ve made, I know that I’m right.

She’s been so awesome. Still be. Will be. Possibly more so than before.

Some day we’ll travel the world together. We’ll be Indiana Jones’ and exchange students and superheros and Tintin and Haddock. We’ll wander and explore and adventure. Someday.

This above all: to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou cans’t not then be false to any man.
